Where you give matters. AdoptAClassroom.org is best in class for our accountability and transparency. In 2021, 91% of donations went to programs. That means only 9% of donations went to administration costs. For context, the industry standard is 15%.

Is my donation tax deductible?

AdoptAClassroom.org is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, so all donations are tax deductible. We will email you a receipt that includes our tax ID number after you make a donation.

How do I know you’re legitimate?

AdoptAClassroom.org holds the highest 4-star rating from Charity Navigator and the highest transparency rating offered by Candid (formerly GuideStar). Since 1998, our supporters have adopted more than 250,000 classrooms nationwide and in all 50 states and U.S. Territories. Read our financial statements for more information.

Any educator who receives funding through AdoptAClassroom.org spends their donation in our proprietary eCommerce marketplace, and their order is shipped directly to their school. All product received is property of the school at which the teacher works. Our teacher verification and reporting process also ensures accountability to our supporters. You can give with peace of mind that your donation will make a difference.

How do I change or modify my monthly gift?

How do I receive a tax receipt?

If you gave online, please check your email inbox for a tax receipt. You can also contact our team at [email protected] to receive a new receipt.

For the fastest processing time, we ask that you give via credit card. Our payment processor is safe and secure.

You can mail a check to the following address. If you are dedicating your gift to a specific educator or Spotlight Fund, please note the information on or with the check. Include the educator’s first and last name, school, and city/state.

Is there a minimum donation requirement?

Currently, we ask that donors give at least $10 to an educator to assist in minimizing card processing costs. If you donate to a Spotlight Fund or directly to AdoptAClassroom.org, there is no minimum.
