What are your overhead costs?
Where you give matters. AdoptAClassroom.org is best in class for accountability and transparency. In fiscal year 2024, 90% of expenses went to our programs, meaning only 10% went to administration costs.
AdoptAClassroom.org does not charge any mandatory fees for classroom or school donations. Educators receive 100% of the donations made to their classrooms or schools.
Is my donation tax deductible?
AdoptAClassroom.org is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, so all donations are tax-deductible. We will email you a receipt that includes our tax ID number after you donate.
How do I know you’re credible?
AdoptAClassroom.org holds the highest 4-star rating from Charity Navigator and the highest transparency rating offered by Candid (formerly GuideStar). Since 1998, our supporters have adopted more than 300,000 classrooms nationwide and in all 50 states and U.S. Territories. Read our financial statements for more information.
For complete transparency and accountability, no cash exchanges hands with our educators. Instead, educators receive AdoptAClassroom.org credit in their proprietary online spending accounts to select their supplies online through the AdoptAClassroom.org marketplace of 20+ education and school supply vendors. AdoptAClassroom.org can track how every donated dollar is spent. All product received is property of the school at which the teacher works. Our teacher verification and reporting process also ensures accountability to our supporters.

How do I change or modify my monthly gift?
Please contact our team at [email protected] or (877) 384-0764 to change your billing address, gift amount, and payment information, or to cancel your donation.
How do I receive a tax receipt?
If you gave online, please check your email inbox for a tax receipt. You can also contact our team at [email protected] to receive a new receipt.
Giving via check:
For the fastest processing time, we ask that you give via credit card. Our payment processor is safe and secure.
You can mail a check to the following address. If you are dedicating your gift to a specific educator or Spotlight Fund, please note the information on or with the check. Include the educator’s first and last name, school, and city/state.

Is there a minimum donation requirement?
Currently, we ask that donors give at least $10 to an educator. If you donate to a Spotlight Fund or directly to AdoptAClassroom.org, there is no minimum.
