St. Paul, MN Principal and AdoptAClassroom.org Board Member Ryan Vernosh was featured on Minnesota Public Radio (MPR) speaking out about student homelessness.
“No child should have to question where their head’s going to lay down at night, whether they’re going to have a meal the next day,” said Principal Ryan Vernosh.
Every day Principal Vernosh sees the impact of homelessness on his students. A frustrated tweet caught the attention of MPR.
The resulting interview highlights the situation schools and educators experience daily—the pressure to go “above and beyond” to help students living in poverty get the basics they deserve to succeed in school. From basic survival needs to essential school supplies, school administrators and teachers invest their time and money to support their students.
