In 2017, PCM-G launched their Star Teacher Award program, designed to showcase and support 12 exemplary teachers around the nation committed to STEM education. As part of the program, one teacher would be voted to win a $10,000 technology grand prize.
Jaime Miller, the 2017 Star Teacher Grand Prize winner in Bloomington, IN, was presented with the Grand Technology Prize of three Samsung Flips in May 2018. The announcement came as a surprise to Miller during her morning lesson. Miller and the school use the Samsung Flips to enhance lessons with imagery and collaboration.
“I am so incredibly proud of Jaime and her commitment to the [school district’s] STEAM initiative,” said Jennifer Lee, the principal of the school. “She strives in developing authentic learning opportunities for our students while coaching our teachers to greater heights. This award is validation that R-BB is implementing innovative programs for our students and providing them with state-of-the-art tools to accomplish their goals.”
