$35,000 Donation Match: Don’t Miss Our Biggest Classroom Match Yet!

Teachers are the heart of our education system. They give physically, emotionally, and financially so that students have what they need to succeed in the classroom.

We think it’s time to #StandUp4Teachers and support them the way they support students.

To show teachers we have their backs, we’re kicking off this AdoptAClassroom Week (August 19-23) with a $35,000 classroom donation match. This is our biggest match ever and you don’t want to miss out!

What You Need To Know

Starting on Monday, August 19, 2024, we are DOUBLING donations made to PreK-12 classroom pages on AdoptAClassroom.org (up to $100*).

Matching begins at 10 a.m. EST on Monday, August 19, 2024, and ends on Tuesday, August 20, 2024, at 6 p.m. EST or when we hit our goal of matching $35,000.

How To Make The Most Of A Donation Match

We chatted with some of the teachers who raised the most funds during our Teacher Appreciation Week donation match this year. Something they had in common was that they alerted their friends, family, and other connections that a donation match was coming before it happened.

In other words, preparation is key! Here’s what to do before the match starts:

  • If you’re new to AdoptAClassroom.org, register and create your fundraising page. You must be registered with AdoptAClassroom.org to participate in our donation match.
  • If you already have a classroom page, log in and make sure your profile and information are up to date.
  • Take a peek at our Teacher Fundraising Guide. It has tips on storytelling, plus ready-to-use templates for email and social media fundraising.
  • Plan how you’re going to send your fundraising page link to your friends, family, and/or community–both ahead of time, and once the donation match starts.
    • Our most successful teachers post the link on their social media and text or email it directly to people they know.

    • Remember, you’ll want to start fundraising as soon as possible after our match starts (August 19 at 10 AM EST). We will update this blog when matching funds run out.

Guidelines to Qualify for AdoptAClassroom.org’s Donation Match

Donations must be processed between the hours of 10 a.m. EST on Monday, August 19, 2024, and Tuesday, August 20, 2024, at 6 p.m. EST as part of the first $35,000 in matched teacher donations.

Mailed checks and pledges are not eligible for this match.

Matching donations will be disbursed within a week to teachers’ AdoptAClassroom.org account.

In the case of monthly donations, AdoptAClassroom.org will match the first donation on 8/19/2024 or 8/20/2024, up to $100, but not the following monthly gifts.

To support as many classrooms as possible:

  • If a teacher donates to their own page, the donation is not eligible for a match
  • Unique donations will be matched up to a maximum of $100 until we reach our overall goal of $35,000.
  • If an individual makes 1+ donation(s) to different teachers, all donations will be matched.
  • If an individual makes 1+ donation(s) to the same teacher, only one donation will be matched.
  • If a teacher receives 1+ donation(s) from different donors, all donations will be matched.
  • If a donation is made on any website other than AdoptAClassroom.org, the donation is not eligible for a match.
