Tornado relief for teachers and students. Donations matched up to $10,000.

Tornado Relief for Teachers and Students

2024 may be the most active tornado season in history. Give now to support tornado relief.

Tornadoes have damaged or destroyed at least six U.S. schools this year alone. The effects of natural disasters are devastating for schools, and the impact can ripple outward to the entire community. When disaster strikes, teachers often lose all of the classroom materials they accumulated over the years. These supplies, many purchased by teachers out of pocket, cannot be replaced without our support.

You can help.

AdoptAClassroom.org’s Natural Disaster Fund is currently matching donations to support tornado relief in the following impacted areas:

Online donations to our Natural Disaster Fund will be matched up to $10,000* through June 30, 2024. This match is made possible by a grant from KKR & Co., Inc.

Your donation ensures every student has the supplies they deserve in uncertain times.

How AdoptAClassroom.org provides tornado relief:

  • We research school and/or school communities who have experienced significant damage after a tornado.
  • We then work with the local teachers in our network or connect with school contacts to identify classrooms in need.
  • Funds are disbursed to educator accounts so they can purchase supplies immediately.
  • AdoptAClassroom.org’s Teacher Services team works with teachers and school contacts to identify a good location, like another school or district office, to ship supplies.
  • Supplies are drop shipped from our network of vendors directly to educators.
  • Students have the supplies they need without teachers spending their own money.

*Please note that we are only able to match donations made through to the Natural Disaster Fund, not to individual teacher pages.
