Help Maui Classrooms Rebuild

Help Maui Classrooms Rebuild

Many teachers and students lost everything in the Maui wildfires.

Four schools were impacted by the fires in West Maui. These schools support 3,000 students and 300 staff. One elementary school was completely destroyed by the wildfires, King Kamehameha III Elementary School. You can see footage here.

We have more than 25 staff members who lost everything in the fires. Our community is really hurting. Thankfully, we have all staff accounted for, but I’m so worried some of our students and their families may not have survived. Thank you for keeping our students in your thoughts,” said Haley W., a 7th grade science teacher at Lahaina Intermediate School.

When disaster strikes, communities need strong schools to help rebuild. The AdoptAClassroom.org Natural Disaster Fund gets students back into the classroom and learning.

Now through September 30, 2023, AdoptAClassroom.org will match your gift to our Natural Disaster Fund up to $5,000 in support of Maui teachers. These funds will support classrooms in Maui impacted by the wildfires.

With your help, we can get students back into the classroom and learning.

Here are some of the teachers* who will benefit from your generous donation:

  • Lahaina Intermediate School in Lahaina, Hawaii – Alynthia, Social Studies Classroom
  • Lahaina Intermediate School in Lahaina, Hawaii – Haley, Science Classroom
  • Sacred Hearts School in Lahaina, Hawaii – Patricia, Social Studies Classroom

If you are a Maui teacher in need of support, please contact [email protected] to be added to our list of teachers benefitting from this fundraiser.

*Please note that we are only able to match donations made through to the Natural Disaster Fund, not to individual teacher pages.
