At the annual Engage for Good Conference, AdoptAClassroom.org and our friends at Subaru of America received some great news – our Subaru Loves Learning campaign received the 2023 GOLD Halo Award for Best Education Initiative.
The Halo Awards honor social impact initiatives that are creating a better world through a non-profit and corporate business partnership. A Halo award is the highest honor in the corporate cause-marketing space in North America. More than thirty partnerships were honored as finalists in nine different categories at the Engage for Good Conference, hosted this year in Atlanta, Georgia.
Subaru and AdoptAClassroom.org teamed up on the annual Subaru Loves Learning campaign for the first time in 2021 and have been growing our program since. Subaru Loves Learning is a tenant of the Subaru Love Promise, where Subaru and its retailers give back to their communities by supporting causes they’re passionate about with their nonprofit partners throughout the year.
AdoptAClassroom.org matches Subaru retailers across the country with a local high-needs school in their area to receive a donation during Subaru Loves Learning month. By activating locally, Subaru and AdoptAClassroom.org make an impact nationwide and put supplies into the hands of thousands of students.
In 2022, our second year of partnership, we activated retailers with supply boxes of highly-requested items for teachers. The retailers were able to pack and deliver the boxes, an essential in-person opportunity to build a relationship between the retailer and the school. Many retailers maintain a relationship with their local school by visiting to volunteer or to celebrate teachers with a teacher appreciation meal or treats.
Donations from Subaru and its retailers helped 300,000 students get the supplies they needed to thrive in the classroom last school year. We’re looking to support even more students this next back-to-school season with Subaru.
This is the second time AdoptAClassroom.org has been honored with a GOLD Halo Award from Engage for Good. We received the award for our work with our longtime sponsor Burlington in 2018.
