All children deserve an education that will help them achieve their dreams. However, students in many schools across the country lack the supplies and resources needed to succeed in the classroom. Subaru and its retailers want to help.
This August, through Subaru Loves Learning, Subaru and its retailers have partnered with AdoptAClassroom.org to support schools and students in need by equipping them with the resources necessary to learn and grow in the classroom. Learn more about our partnership in the video below:
Providing Students the Resources They Need
The Subaru support is coming just in time. In AdoptAClassroom.org’s latest 2021 Teacher Spending Survey, 80% of teachers said students had less access to supplies they needed because they could not share. Teachers are spending more of their own money than ever before on school supplies, averaging $750 a year. Teachers are providing the resources that enrich the learning environment and give these students a chance for success.
Nationwide Impact for Schools in Need
More than 600 Subaru retailers have been matched with schools in need in their communities. Each retailer will adopt individual classrooms to provide much-needed educational resources to better equip students to learn and grow. This year, Subaru and its retailers’ efforts will benefit more than 114,000 students nationwide, from elementary school to high school.
Improving Education with Classroom Materials
For teachers like Tomekia in Savannah, GA, support from her local Subaru retailer is coming just in time. A year of distance learning was a challenge for her social studies class. Tomekia describes her students as hilarious, aggressive about succeeding, and extremely gifted. However, the economic hardships students faced at home impacted their ability to access their education last year. Looking forward to this year, she plans to hit the ground running to make up for any learning loss with innovative lesson plans to help her students in new, and engaging ways. Subaru’s support will help her access basic supplies like paper that will help Tomekia bring her social studies lessons to life.
Subaru believes in making learning accessible to as many students as possible. Adopting classrooms through Subaru Loves Learning is just one of the ways they are doing even more this year to make a difference. Learn more about Subaru Loves Learning here.
