At AdoptAClassroom.org, we’d like to extend a huge thank you to everyone who raised their hands for teachers on #GivingTuesday! Together, we had almost 200 adoptions, putting almost $19,000 (would this be $24,000 with LB funds?) into classrooms across the country. Better yet, with the help of Lane Bryant we matched the first 100 donations to make teachers’ days extra sweet.
We’d also like to give a shoutout to all the social-savvy teachers, like Caitlin, who shared their adoption pages on Twitter and Facebook, and then received donations:
To celebrate a successful day, we’d like to share a few of our favorite thank you notes from #GivingTuesday:
I really appreciate your donation for our classroom. This really helps out, especially at this time of the year. We will be using this money for various materials that I normally buy myself during this holiday season.

You are fantastic!I can’t believe how generous you are with my little first graders. I can’t wait to open the boxes of things I picked and see their faces. They are going to be so surprised!!!
-Janice
You don’t know what this will mean for my kids next semester. So many projects that I thought were unreachable, now I just have to chose. haha
Thank you so much for “adopting” me for the family Christmas gift.-Julie
Again, THANK YOU to everyone who helped us to make #GivingTuesday such a success. Did you miss out? It’s not too late. Our goal is to adopt 3,000 classrooms before the end of the year, and you can help. Adopt your favorite teacher, and be sure to share their #IAmATeacher post to help them win $2,500!
